Alternative to Sunsama
A free Sunsama alternative for planning around your hours
Sunsama made daily planning popular: a guided ritual each morning, tasks with time estimates, and a warning when the day is too full. If you like that way of working but not the price, or you mostly plan your own life rather than work across many tools, Plenzu is built on the same idea at a fraction of the cost.

Why people look for a Sunsama alternative
- The price: without a free plan, a year of Sunsama costs more than many people want to pay for a to-do app.
- They plan personal life as much as work, and do not need integrations with work tools.
- A daily ritual that is a little too long on busy mornings.
What Plenzu does the same, and differently
Like Sunsama, Plenzu starts from your hours. Give tasks a duration, set your hours per weekday, and a time bar shows planned time against them, with a 15% buffer by default. It turns amber when the day is too full.
The daily start is short: Plenzu shows what was carried over, and you choose in a few taps: today, move or let go. There is a Planner with day, week and month views, time blocking in the day view, and a built-in weekly review with planned and done hours.
Plenzu also keeps bigger plans: workspaces with a status, an optional timeline with milestones, and a traffic light that tells you honestly when a project falls behind.
When Sunsama suits you better
If your work lives in tools like Asana, Trello, Jira, Gmail or Slack, and you want them pulled into one daily plan along with your calendar, Sunsama’s integrations are hard to beat. Plenzu has no integrations or calendar sync yet; it is focused on your own tasks and hours.
How to switch
- 1Create a free Plenzu account with your email.
- 2Set your hours per weekday, and lower them on days full of meetings.
- 3Add this week’s tasks with a duration, and drag them into the days in the Planner.
- 4Do your first week review on Friday and plan the next week from there.
Questions
Is Plenzu really free?
Yes, everything is free for now. A Pro plan of €39 a year or €3.99 a month, and a Lifetime plan of €79 once, are planned for later. The free plan stays.
Does Plenzu sync with Google Calendar?
Not yet. You set your available hours per weekday and per date instead, so a day full of meetings simply gets fewer hours for tasks.
Does Plenzu have a daily planning ritual like Sunsama?
A shorter one. Each morning Plenzu shows what was carried over and whether today fits, and you decide what to do with each task in a few taps.
