A Pomodoro focus timer linked to your tasks
The Pomodoro technique is simple: work on one thing for 25 minutes, then take a short break. Plenzu has a focus timer built in. You start it from the task you are working on, and the minutes you focus are added to that task.
How the focus timer works
- 1Choose Focus on a task. A focus round of 25 minutes starts.
- 2When the round ends, take a 5-minute break. Stand up, drink some water.
- 3After four rounds, take a longer break of 15 minutes.
- 4The minutes you focused are added to the time spent on the task.
Make it yours
- Set your own length for focus rounds and breaks in Settings.
- Pause, end a round early, or skip a break.
- Make the timer small while you work, and open it again when you need it.
- Start the timer without a task when you simply want to focus.
Why a timer and a time plan work well together
A planned duration is a guess; focus rounds show what a task really took. Over time you learn to estimate better, and your realistic day plan gets more realistic too.
Combine it with time blocking: block 90 minutes for a task in your day, then work through it in three focus rounds.
Questions
Is the focus timer free?
Yes. The focus timer is part of the free plan.
Can I change the 25 minutes?
Yes. Set your own length for focus rounds, short breaks and long breaks in Settings.
What is the Pomodoro technique?
A way of working in short, focused rounds, usually 25 minutes, with a short break after each and a longer break after four. Francesco Cirillo came up with it in the late 1980s.
